What does it mean when my papers say that I am a "non obligated reservist"?

Hello all, Im currently in the Navy Reserves. I signed a 3 year contract in Jan of this year. I have completed my initial 8 year army contract last may. I just noticed my papers say im a “non obligated reservist”. Can someone tell me what that means? Thanks

Sounds like IRR to me. I knew some Marines that talked about Non-Obligation. Basically, while on the books, they weren't obligated/required to attend Battle Assembly. They'd get paid if they did, but didn't have to show up. You may want to discuss this with your unit

It means that should you decide not to participate, they would discharge you rather than order you to active duty as you MSO has already been fulfilled.

Don’t know but seems to me you’re not obligated to serve your full contract
